A woman has been hit and killed by a train at Kingsbury Underground station.

Emergency services were called to the station shortly after 3pm on Monday (June 15) to reports a person had been struck by a train.

A woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The station was closed for around two hours while emergency services dealt with the incident, causing major delays on the Jubilee line.

Speaking to getwestlondon, a British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: "We were called to Kingsbury Underground station just after 3pm on Monday, after a report that a person had been struck by a train.

"BTP officers attended the southbound Jubilee line platform, alongside colleagues from London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade.

"A woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers are currently working to identify the woman and inform her family.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

Kingsbury station was reopened at around 5pm.
