British Transport Police (BTP) have released an image of a man they would like to speak to after a woman was reportedly hit in the face at Acton rail station.

According to BTP, the woman was at the top of the stairs at the station on August 7 and was preparing to walk down before feeling a strong shove against her shoulder.

The 38-year-old, from Acton , was then confronted by a man, who was acting aggressively, and the pair had a verbal exchange before the woman was hit across the face, BTP said.

Another woman was said to have come to the aid of the victim, following the incident at 9.03pm.

Investigating officer PC Eric Anang said: “Everyone has the right to travel without fear of violence or intimidation.

“I am keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image as he may hold vital information or may have witnessed the incident. I urge him, or anyone who may know him, to come forward.”
