A woman found dead in Southall was a "friendly and talkative" mother-of-two, according to those who knew her.

Elife Beqa, 34, was found dead on Thursday (August 13), after police were called to reports of a woman who was unresponsive at a property in Convent Way, Southall.

Agim Isaku, of Convent Way, Southall, has since been charged with her murder.

Mr Isaku, 40, appeared at the Old Bailey on Monday (August 17) and was remanded in custody to return on November 3 for a plea and case management hearing.

One member of the community, where Ms Beqa lived in a high-rise apartment block, said: "She was very friendly and talkative.

"Everyone in the building knew her and a lot of people around here are really shocked."

The man, who asked not to be named, said she had two children, aged six and 11.

Police said a post mortem had given the cause of death as strangulation.
