A pedestrian involved in a collision in Hayes over a month ago has sadly died from her injuries.

The 65-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital by London's Air Ambulance on June 17 in a critical condition following the incident.

Police were called at around 2.50pm after reports of two cars and a pedestrian in collision on Coldharbour Lane, at the zebra crossing near the junction with Avondale Drive.

She was taken to an east London hospital for treatment where, the day after the crash, she was described as being in a serious but stable condition.

Speaking on the day of the collision, a passer-by said: "A lady was laying near the zebra crossing with an air ambulance, lots of police and a normal ambulance on scene.

"It looked quite serious. I saw her lying on the floor, with people who put her into the recovery position."

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for witnesses after spokesman confirmed the woman had died on Wednesday morning (July 22).

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Both drivers, a man and a woman, stopped at the scene.

"A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

"We believe we know the identity of the deceased but await formal identification.

"Next of kin have been informed."

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying our enquiries into the circumstances of the incident. No arrests have yet been made.

Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call the witness line on 020 8991 9555.
