A woman has died after a fire broke out in Fulham on Saturday evening (July 2).

Firefighters were called to Wandon Road at around 6.15pm to a ground floor fire at a terraced property but the fire was out by the time they arrived.

One person was said to be involved in the fire but a man and a woman were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service .

Sadly the woman died later in hospital.

Two fire engines and 14 firefighters were called to the scene from Fulham and Battersea fire stations.

A statement from London Fire Brigade said the incident was over by 6.32pm.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
