A school nurse has been honoured for her commitment to students' wellbeing.

Camilla March lives in Stamford Brook and cares for students at William Morris Sixth Form in Hammersmith.

She has been named "children's healthcare professional of the year" at the Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust's staff awards, held in Westminster.

The mother-of-three, who has worked in the NHS for 23 years, was praised for working tirelessly to help pupils reach their full potential - especially those with mental health problems.

She was nominated by a colleague, who said in her citation: "Camilla is one of the most dedicated school nurses I've met.

"She always puts the children’s health and wellbeing first and works hard to build strong relationships with the families she works with."

Ms March said: "I feel extremely honoured and humbled to have won, but also delighted to receive the recognition for all the work that I have done in school nursing for the past 10 years.

"The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I’ve made a difference to a young person and/or their family and been there for them when they have needed a helping hand, for whatever health problems that may have arisen."

The annual awards are held to recognise the contribution of CLCH staff to improving the lives of almost 1 million patients across London and Hertfordshire.
