This beautiful, tiny Shih Tzu puppy is looking for a safe home to call her own after she was cruelly dumped, trapped under a traffic cone.

The poor puppy was found whimpering, trapped and abandoned under a traffic cone in a garage in Hillingdon.

Seven-week-old Connie was confined to a tiny space - the width of a football - and had no access to food or water, with summer temperatures making the conditions she was found in very dangerous.

She was taken to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in Old Windsor, where she is now doing well and is looking for a new home.

Staff described her as a bright and playful puppy who has won the hearts of staff and volunteers at the charity.

Battersea Old Windsor centre manager Kaye Mughal said: “It’s such an unusual and sad story that hopefully has a positive ending for Connie.

“She’s a gorgeous dog and we know someone will come along soon and give her the home she deserves.

“Shih Tzu’s are desirable and expensive breeds, so it’s hard for us to understand why someone would abandon a puppy under these circumstances and not take Connie to a local rescue centre.

“She’s been through so much for a young pup, but now her luck is turning around here at Battersea Old Windsor.”
