Westminster is the “sex establishments” capital of the country, with the highest number of sex shops, sex cinemas and entertainment venues in England and Wales.

Aside from being the home of politics, the central London borough has an astonishing 30 sex establishments and venues.

This works out to be one sex establishment for every 8,077 people compared to a national average of one for every 138,328, astonishingly high compared to other areas.

The venues holding a licence include 20 sexual entertainment venues and 10 sex shops.

Sex cinemas, shops and venues were also found to be more common in Hammersmith and Fulham and Hillingdon

Trinity Mirror's data team asked every council in the two countries how many sex establishments they had on their books under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982.

Across the west London area there were another seven sex establishments on top of the 30 in Westminster, including two each in Hammersmith and Fulham and Hillingdon .

Across the whole of England and Wales councils said there were 391 licensed sex establishments in operation.
