Have you ever wondered just how hygienic your favourite Westfield food or coffee outlet actually is?

Well getwestlondon has done some digging and it turns out it's a pretty damn clean bill of health for the venue as a whole.

Just five out of the centre's more than 80 premises were rated Two or below at their last Food Standard Agency (FSA) inspection.

You Me Sushi and Ca'puccino were given One ratings when inspected by Hammersmith and Fulham Council – just one level above the lowest Zero rating.

All ratings have been taken from the FSA website and were accurate at the time of writing (April 5, 2017).

The inspection of Ca'puccino, carried out on July 27, 2016, found that food handling hygiene was “generally satisfactory” but that the cleanliness of facilities and the building needed improvement and that “major improvement was necessary” in the management of food safety.

Food safety includes the checks in place to ensure food is safe to eat, evidence staff are aware of food safety and that these standards will be maintained in future.

You Me Sushi was scrutinised on November 2, 2016, and inspectors found that hygienic food handling needed improvement and major improvement was needed in the management of food safety.

How hygienic is your favourite restaurant at Westfield?

The FSA website states a hygiene rating reflects the standards found at the time of inspection, and businesses can appeal or ask for a re-inspection.

The Meat Co, Love Coffee and Sacred café all were given just Two in their most recent inspections.

Love Coffee needed improvement in cleanliness and condition of facilities and the building, according to inspectors, while it was satisfactory in food handling and food safety. It was inspected on December 14 last year.

Manager Luigi Ponzano said: "There were a few factors as this was a very bad rating. Mainly it was a problem with the structure of the building itself. It's been restored."

Mr Ponzano added the issue had now been resolved.

Sacred was also given “improvement necessary” in cleanliness and condition of facilities but was satisfactory in the other two areas when inspected on December 5, 2016.

A Sacred spokesman said: "Food hygiene and safety is a key priority for Sacred and we are working closely with the EHO on improvements since the last audit.

"We are installing a Brand new Kiosk in May 2017 which will enhance the experience in every aspect of the business as an operator and to our customers.

"We are committed to ensuring the highest food and safety standards for our customers."

The FSA did not include further details about the inspection of The Meat Co branch on November 25, 2015.

A spokesman for The Meat Co said: "Since the last food & safety assessment, our restaurant has been undergoing structural renovations and we are looking forward to being reassessed this summer once the refurbishment is complete.

"We are committed to ensuring the highest food and safety standards for our customers, and currently score a 5 for both food hygiene & safety and confidence in management."

More than half of the outlets at Westfield in Ariel Way, Shepherd's Bush, were given the highest rating with 47 being given "Five" by the FSA.
