A new principal is set to take the reins at West Thames College, in Isleworth .

Marjorie Semple is retiring at the end of March after eight years in charge at the college , in Twickenham Road.

Tracy Aust, her current deputy, will step up to replace her from April 1.

Ms Semple has been at the college since arriving in 2001 as assistant principal, and has spent 40 years working in the further education sector.

During her time in the hot seat, she oversaw the £70m rebuild of the Isleworth campus.

Ms Aust said: "We need to constantly adapt to ensure that we are giving local people the skills they need to compete in the local labour market."

One of her first tasks as principal will be to launch the college's Skills and Logistics Centre in May.
