West London has spent more weeks at number one in the charts than Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle thanks to the legendary British band Queen.
Artists from the west have spent a total of 99 weeks in the top spot, with rock legends Queen with lead singer Freddie Mercury from Feltham, making up 21 weeks - the ninth most of any band or singer ever.
Other artists in the area who contributed to the number ones included Elton John of Pinner and Ronnie Wood's of Hillingdon who was in the Rolling Stones.
In comparison Manchester spent 82 weeks at number one, 45 for Newcastle and 39 for Birmingham.
West London also held number ones for the longest period at 2.4 weeks on average compared to 1.9 weeks for Manchester.
On the whole, London spent the most time at number one with 477 weeks shared out between 225 hits by 126 performers.
The most successful foreign country was by far the USA with 384 number ones.
Bryan Adams currently holds the record for the longest weeks at number one for a song with (Everything I Do) I Do It For You. It spent 16 weeks at number one after bursting onto the scene on July 13 1991.
However, The Beatles are the undisputed champions of the charts having spent 69 weeks at number one across 18 singles.
