West London marginal voters could hold the key to a House of Parliament shake up if newly registered voters head to polling stations on election day .

Six constituencies had a nail-bitingly close majority in the 2015 election, and voters who have registered since could provide the swing to the opposing party on June 8.

In fact, they were so close, they all place in the top 20 marginal seats in the UK.

Topping the chart for west London was Central Ealing & Acton , where Labour Party member Rupa Huq won by an excruciating majority of just 274 votes or 0.38%.

So the estimated 2,778 newly-registered residents in the constituency could provide the deciding vote.

Elsewhere in west London, Brentford and Isleworth 's Labour candidate, Ruth Cadbury , won by 0.55%, Sarah Olney, of the Liberal Democrats took the Richmond Park seat by 2.42% in the 2016 by-election and Labour's Gareth Thomas held Harrow West constituency by 3.17%.

Percentage by which the 2015 west London MPs won their seat

Nationwide, the number of Green and UK Independence Party (UKIP) candidates has decreased so previous voters could re-distribute their allegiance to the main political parties.

Harrow West has seen a surge in the registered voters in comparison to those who voted in the previous election - as there were 69,794 people registered by June 2017, compared to 46,603 people voted in 2015.
