The family of disabled teenager Reyan Marriott, from Southall, were thrilled to receive a lump sum donation towards a sensory garden.

Grandmother Denise Marriott, of St Mary's Drive, Bedfont, started fundraising to build a trail in her daughter Carina's garden so her 14-year old granddaugher can explore nature at home.

The recent £800 donation from Hounslow-based Urban Planters London West has boosted the family's funds to around £2,000, but with a target of £5,000 there is still some way to go.

Ms Marriott said: "I was overwhelmed by the donation that we received from Urban Planters.

"With what we made on the day of the street party and their donation we are well on the way to getting the sensory garden that Reyan needs."

The small business, which helps green-up the office or home, sets aside a percentage of its profits every year to support local good causes.

Director Liz Cabble said the company were pleased to help in a small way as it was the type of project to support being local, horticultural-based and a benefit to someone.
