Police are searching for an armed robber who struck in West Kensington on Tuesday (September 26) afternoon.

A commercial unit in North End Road , which a witness has told getwestlondon is Carphone Warehouse, was targeted, with the robber making off with goods and money.

Scotland Yard said its Trojan unit attended and no-one was hurt.

A spokesman said: “Officers were called at approximately 12.38pm on Tuesday September 26 following reports of an armed robbery in progress at a commercial premises in North End Road, W12.

“Officers from the Trojan unit attended.

“The suspect had fled the scene with a quantity of cash and goods.

“There were no injuries.

“Attempts to locate the suspect are ongoing.”

One person waking past at around 4.30pm said there was a heavy police presence close to the West Kensington Estate near Fulham Boys School, with five police cars with officers wearing body armour in attendance.

Another witness reported seeing armed police unit “flying down Walham Grove” at around 4pm or 5pm.

The robbery happened on the other end of the road to North End Market.

Police say enquiries are continuing.
