A man was rushed to hospital after a collision involving a motorbike and a U3 bus in West Drayton .

The A408, Falling Lane, was closed after the crash on Thursday (August 24) afternoon.

An emergency helicopter, ambulance crews and police all rushed to the scene after reports that man had received a head injury.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.48pm to Falling Lane, West Drayton, to reports of a road traffic collision.

“We sent an incident response officer and an ambulance crew to the scene. London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched.

“We treated a man at the scene for a head injury and he was taken as a priority to a major trauma centre.”

Hillingdon Police assisted with the road closure between Apple Tree roundabout and Otterfield Road and warned motorists to avoid the area.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: “We were called today at 1.52pm by London Ambulance Service to a collision on Falling Lane, involving a motorbike and a bus.

“Initial reports suggest injuries are not life threatening or life changing.”

U1, U3 and U5 buses were placed on diversion during the road closures but were declared back to line just after 4.30pm.

Transport for London confirmed the incident involved a U3 bus.
