East Lane remains closed after a fire at an industrial unit in Wembley on Monday (January 23), sparking traffic queues in the area.

Around 120 firefighters and 20 fire engines were called to Magnet Road, near East Lane, where a fire had broken out at several units in the Magnet Road Industrial Estate.

Fire crews remain on the scene but London Fire Brigade (LFB) said they do not yet know if the situation will be resolved by the end of Wednesday (January 25).

East Lane is closed in both directions due to the fire, which occurred at estate between Pembroke Road and Peel Road, with heavy traffic queues in the surrounding area.

The road was originally closed on Monday evening until the early hours of Tuesday (January 24), but closures were put back into place later that day.

There is also a diversion for bus routes 245 and 483.

(LFB) had earlier said the fire affected a bakery, a packaging unit, a car workshop and a sun tan studio, among others.

LFB said they are still sending relief crews to the scene, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
