Weekend weather: Things to do in west London as long sunny spells are forecast

With sunny spells and dry weather forecast for the weekend, it's time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine

After a rather cold and cloudy week here in London, this weekend it will begin to feel like spring with sunshine forecast.

Although temperatures will only reach highs of around 15°C over the weekend, long sunny spells are forecast, so it's time to grab your jacket and head outside.

Tonight (March 24), it will be quite chilly, with lows of just 4°C, but it will remain dry with long clear spells.

The Met Office forecast for London on Saturday, March 25 says: "Dry with long sunny spells and remaining dry.

"Feeling pleasantly warm in sheltered inland sunshine, but tempered by a stiff northeasterly breeze."

On Sunday, March 26, this spring sunshine will continue, with a bright and mostly dry day forecast.

So with the weather set to be on our side this weekend, here are some ideas of what you can do.

Kew Gardens

Saturday will be the perfect day to enjoy the great outdoors, so why not head to Kew Gardens, grab some fresh air and marvel at the extensive array of different flowers and plants.

There is also an option for a family ticket.

The Thames Path

With almost 80 miles of pathway taking you past some of London's greatest sights and pubs, the Thames Path would be perfect for a Sunday stroll.

The whole route is 128km in total, but is split into four sections on both the North and South bank of the River Thames and here in west London it takes you past the likes of Syon Park , Chiswick Pier and Kew Gardens .

So lace up your walking boots and make the most of the weather while it is here.
