A registry office dubbed "the coolest in the UK" because of the list of musical legends and Hollywood stars who have got married there is reopening after a four-year refurbishment.

The Old Marylebone Town Hall is where Paul McCartney exchanged his vows with Linda in the Swinging Sixties and with his third wife Nancy Shevell in 2011, and where bandmate Ringo Starr got hitched in the 1980s.

It is reopening in January after closing for developments in August 2013 and will reopen in January 2018.

The hall has used for the wedding of Hollywood A-listers Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, and Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher wed both Patsy Kensit and then Nicole Appleton there.

Sean Bean married there in 2008.

The building’s interiors have been transformed with the 1920s features complemented by contemporary furnishings, while the exterior and famous stone lions have been restored to their former glory.

The reception rooms will also offer a wine fridge, which will allow guests to stay on after the formalities of the ceremony.
