Monday (December 18) is expected to see fog forming widely across much of London and southern England.

The yellow warning issued by the Met Office predicts visibility dropping to as low as 100 metres in some places from 8pm on Monday (December 18) to midday on Tuesday (December 19).

Greater London , Slough, Reading and Kent are all expected to experience issues with fog.

The Met Office says that light winds and clear skies are causing the wide forming of fog.

Throughout Tuesday morning, cloud arriving from the west is expected to help clear most of the fog but some patches may persist in the southern and eastern parts of England.

The Met Office warns that some train, bus and car journeys could be affected by delays due to the fog.

There is a chance that flights could be cancelled too; anyone flying is advised to check with their operator.
