A crime thriller which was filmed on the streets on Hounslow is set to premiere in the borough on Tuesday (May 23).

The feature-length movie, Hound, which is directed by Simba Masaku, will be shown to the public for the first time in the Paul Robeson Theatre in Hounslow's Treaty Centre.

The film follows the story of a vigilante who seeks revenge against the gang which killed his dog.

Both cast and crew will be present at the premiere of the film, which was made possible through contributions of over £4,000 made to crowdfunding website, Kickstarter.

Ahead of the premiere, Mr Masaku said: "I am overwhelmed that we finally reached the conclusion of the film and can finally show it to others as a finished product.

"There is one thing watching it on your laptop in a small box room everyday, and now we are putting it on a big canvas in a cinema - it is literally a dream come true.

"Looking back I feel truly blessed with the support I received from everyone, I've lived in Hounslow all my life and this is my love letter to my town."

Taking the leading role is Jimm Stark, whom Mr Masaku met whilst working at Thorpe Park.

The pair have also teamed up with a fellow theme park worker, Chris Greene, who plays an extra in the film.

Mr Greene grew up in Hounslow and said the film was a great way to "showcase" the borough and its talent.

The premier will be held in the Treaty Centre on Tuesday, May 23

Those behind Hound have also been invited to attend the MCM Comic Con, held in the borough of Newham on Sunday (May 28), to showcase the film.
