1945 goes down in history as the year which marked the end of the Second World War, and during the same year, west London was captured on camera from the skies.

Seventy-two years ago, west London was certainly a very different place and a bird's eye view of the city shows just how much things have changed.

Back in 1945, there was no Westfield shopping centre, Wembley Stadium looked a lot different and Heathrow Airport was much smaller.

The video highlights the change in the landscape of the capital, west of Westminster, showing both new and old landmarks.

Shepherd's Bush has even seen a dramatic change just within the last 14 years.
