An elderly man with dementia who went missing from Hammersmith A&E department has been found safe and well after appeals to find him went out for six days.

The 88-year-old, who was described by police as "vulnerable", was found safely on Tuesday February 14.

Metropolitan Police officers were very concerned as Leonard Dunstan had gone missing during the cold spell.

He walked out of the emergency department of Charing Cross Hospital in Fulham Palace Road just after 5.30pm on Wednesday (February 8).

Mr Dunstan is known to spend time in Ealing and Fulham and an appeal went out to find him soon after he was reported missing.

CCTV pictures, released by the Metropolitan Police on Sunday (February 12) showed Mr Dunstan leaving the hospital.

Ealing Police said they were "really pleased to confirm Leonard has been found."

An officer said: "He has been poorly in hospital and was a little confused."
