This shocking video shows the moment a 69-year-old woman was dragged along the pavement as she was robbed of her handbag in west London.

Police investigating the robbery in River Gardens, Feltham , have released the CCTV footage in a bid to catch the man responsible.

The victim can be seen walking past a petrol station with her husband before being dragged backwards along the pavement as she tries to hold onto her bag.

The assailant eventually wrestles the bag from her shoulder and runs off along River Gardens away from Staines Road.

The woman required hospital treatment for a fractured shoulder after the robbery, which happened on Sunday, October 25.

PC Josh Lowther, from Hounslow CID, said: "This was an extremely nasty robbery which has left a woman with a serious injury to her shoulder. It could have been far more serious as a huge amount of force was used to get the bag.

"If you recognise this man from the CCTV footage or have any information then please contact police."

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5ft8ins, with light coloured hair. He was wearing a pale coloured hooded top.

The woman's bag was made of green fabric and decorated with sparkly butterflies.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hounslow CID on 020 8247 6160 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
