Large parts of Victoria Station remain closed this afternoon (September 12) as police continue to deal with a high-risk incident.

Specialist officers have been at the scene since 4am when they were called to deal with what British Transport (BTP) police describe as “a vulnerable person in a precarious position at the top of an escalator”.

The entrance to the station in Buckingham Palace Road that leads to platforms 15 to 19 from the bus station has been cordoned off by BTP.

Parts of the station were closed at 4am on Monday (September 12) and had not reopened by early afternoon

Train services are currently running as normal, with no impact on services, but commuters using the station may be impacted.

The official Victoria line Twitter said “the incident remain ongoing”, and at the time of writing the BTP officers were still at the station holding talks with the man.
