A 19-year-old pleaded with her attacker to stop when she was sexually assaulted after leaving a popular nightclub in Leicester Square last month.

Yathukulan Paskaramoorthy, from Brent , admitted to sexually assaulting the student who had only been in the UK for four days.

The victim tried to leave the Tiger Tiger nightclub but mistakenly used a fire exit and found herself in the basement of a neighbouring communal building.

She was pursued by Paskaramoorthy, who attacked her.

Speaking about the impact of the terrifying attack, the victim said: “I didn't want to tell my parents as I felt it would affect them psychologically and they would want me to come home straight away.

"I didn't want to worry them."

“So I just went to my room mate and cried because I had to get it off my chest," she added.

“I hate that it happened, but I fought the guy off and I was glad I did because I do not want him to do worse to someone else.

“I'm very apprehensive about going out with university friends, and I do not.”

At around 1.30am on on Saturday, 17 September, the victim had tried to leave Tiger Tiger nightclub in Haymarket when she was followed by the 33-year-old offender, the Metropolitan Police said.

Paskaramoorthy, of Berkley Road, Kingsbury, grabbed the victim and pushed her to the floor before sexually assaulting her.

Victim pleaded with offender

The victim fought back and said: “There is a camera, don't do this, don't do this to me, you'll get caught.”

He did not speak to the victim during the attack and there had been no interaction between them during the night.

The victim contacted the club about the attack who passed information on to the police.

Investigating officer, detective Constable Ben Lucas, from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse command at the Met, said: “This was a nasty attack on a vulnerable young woman that has left her very distressed and fearful to go out with friends.

“I would like to praise her for her courage in coming to us and helping us to bring Paskaramoorthy to justice.

“I would also like to thank the staff at Tiger Tiger for all their help with the investigation.”

Paskaramoorthy was seen on CCTV following the woman through the fire exit and leaving the building shortly after.

Footage also showed him entering the club and having his ID scanned at the door, and Paskaramoorthy was also found to have used his Oyster Card nearby.

He pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault by penetration at Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday (October 26) and will be sentenced at the same court on Wednesday November 23.
