An 18-year-old man was stabbed in his chest with a kitchen knife on his doorstep.

Deividas Vyturys was returning to his home in Andover Close, Uxbridge when he sustained a 2cm stab wound to his chest at around 7pm on Friday (October 20).

Deividas's mother Renata Jankunaite was in the house at the time when her son was stabbed.

"We heard screams coming from the front door and I ran outside" said Renata, speaking from her son's hospital room .

"My Deividas was bleeding quite a lot and I had to drive him to accident and emergency myself.

"He was bleeding really badly the whole time.

"They told us his injuries were too serious and he had to be transferred to another hospital by ambulance," she added.

Deividas is still receiving treatment for his injuries but is now in a stable condition, his mother confirmed.

Metropolitan Police said officers were called to reports of a stabbing in Andover Close at 7.40pm.

No arrests have been made but police are continuing enquiries.
