Clothing giant Primark is set to officially open in Uxbridge in March, the company have announced.

A countdown clock on the bargain place's website has said the store will be open for business on Saturday, March 25.

Primark Uxbridge will be across two floors and will have entrances from both High Street and Chequers Square.

The opening of the discount fashion store has been in the works since 2014 and was not officially announced until September 2015.

In October, Primark revealed the store's opening had been delayed until spring after it was due to start welcoming customers before Christmas.

Job applications for 120 jobs opened at the end of October and interviews were held in November last year for positions.

Those job applications are now no longer available on the Primark website.

Hillingdon Council's cabinet member for regeneration, Cllr Douglas Mills, has previously said: "Primark's arrival is a great coup for the local economy.

"Uxbridge is going through a complete transformation in the next few years that will further cement its reputation as an attractive and convenient west London shopping destination.

"Such progress shows that Hillingdon is working very well in attracting high quality businesses, bringing more jobs for local people."
