An Uxbridge man was fined thousands of pounds after waste from his house was found dumped in Buckinghamshire.

Clayton Sadler, aged 38, failed to show up to High Wycombe Magistrates Court to see himself found guilty of failing in his duty of care as a householder.

The court heard that Sadler, of Lynhurst Crescent, paid a "man with van" type enterprise £60 to remove his household waste, not making any checks for a waste carrier licence.

He also failed to see that by paying the men a fee, he was guilty of fly-tipping himself.

Clayton Sadler's waste was dumped by a 'man in a van' but he had to pay out over £2,000

Sadler's rubbish found its way to Andre Hill Lane, in Hedgerley, South Buckinghamshire on September 15, 2016 and he was identified by evidence within the waste.

Police brought Sadler in to Southall Police Station for questioning and magistrates in High Wycombe fined him £660. He also had to pay £1,407.50 in prosecution costs and a victim surcharge of £66, making his total fine £2,133.50.

South Bucks District council cabinet member for environment Luisa Sullivan, speaking on behalf of the Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire, said: "It's with good reason that the law penalises householders that fail to check on the credentials of people who take away their waste - we all have a responsibility to ensure that waste is disposed of properly".

Waste found in Buckinghamshire can be reported online from the Waste Partnership website .

Last week, CCTV captured the bizarre moment a flytipper was caught dumping rubbish before stopping to take a photo of it.

The litter lout is seen spending more than 40 minutes getting rid of large items in Cedarne Road, Fulham , on July 18.
