Hillingdon's only Wyevale Garden Centre will be closing its doors for good at the end of the month because the landlords of the site are planning to build on the land.

The centre in Pield Heath Road, called Hillingdon, a Wyevale Garden Centre, is closing down on January 31 and the company have thanked customers and staff for their “dedication and commitment”.

According to Wyevale, the landlord of the site is considering it for redevelopment and so the garden centre has terminated its lease.

Wyevale is holding a closing down sale in its final days.

A spokesman for the company said: “Our goal is to deliver the very best service and products to our customers across the UK and we've enjoyed operating Hillingdon garden centre.

“The landlord of the garden centre has been considering the site for redevelopment purposes and as a result we have terminated our lease. The centre will close at the end of the January.”

“We are very grateful for the dedication and commitment of the entire Hillingdon team and to our loyal customers," the spokesman added.

“We are currently working closely with our colleagues to ensure we support them as best we can through this transition and we're trying our best to find alternative employment for them at other locations where possible.”

The next nearest centres are in Harrow, around six miles away and Osterley around seven miles away.
