Uxbridge 's historic Randalls department store was transformed into a period toy store last week during production of a film believed to be about the author of the hugely popular Winnie the Pooh children's books.

On Thursday evening (October 27) a huge black canopy was erected in Vine Street and lighting equipment was spotted in front of the store, which closed in January last yea r.

The following morning the store was completely transformed as queues of costumed shoppers waited outside the store.

New York style road signs were also erected and a hot dog stand was also seen at the Cricket Field Lane junction.

It was reported in 2015 that Disney is making a live-action movie about the life A A Milne and his son Christopher Robin, who appears as a character in the books.

Reports say the film will follow Milne and his son Christopher Robin, and is rumoured to star Dohmnall Gleeson and Margot Robbie.

According to the Internet Movie Database the film, Goodbye Christopher Robin, involves Pinewood Studios in Iver near Uxbridge.

The release date for the film has not yet been confirmed.
