An uncanny Boris Johnson lookalike was spotted in his constituency - singing protest songs.

Uxbridge High Street shoppers were surprised to see what looked remarkably like their incumbent Conservative MP with a microphone in hand warbling songs begging voters "not to vote Tory".

He was accompanied by a fellow musician and an array of placards and flags, attracting the attention of passers-by on Wednesday (June 7).

Shoppers were surprised to see the platinum-haired MP singing in Uxbridge

The musical protest took place on the last day that MP candidates up and the down the country had to canvas for votes, before polls open for the General Election on June 8.

One Twitter user said: "I've seen this Boris Johnson look-a-like in Uxbridge more often than Boris himself."

Others found the performance amusing, tweeting: "Two fellas in Uxbridge town centre. One looks like Boris Johnson one looks like Theresa May. Singing and begging people to not vote Tory."

While another said: "Haha, brilliant. If only Boris was on the voting trail in Uxbridge today!"

It was reported that police attended the scene - getwestlondon is awaiting confirmation from the Metropolitan Police.
