Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death in central London on Tuesday (December 27).

Detectives launched a murder investigation after the victim, believed to be in his 30s, was stabbed between 7.05am and 7.15am in Adelaide Street, Westminster.

Both suspects, aged 19, were arrested on Thursday (December 29) and remain in custody.

Police are appealing for anyone who heard or saw an altercation in the area to come forward.

The Metropolitan Police were called by London Ambulance Service to reports of a man stabbed.

Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 8.27am.

Police believe they know the identity of the deceased, but await formal identification.

His next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination was due to take place on Thursday.
