News that a "gunman" may still be on the loose following a shooting in Twickenham has topped the news agenda in west London this week.

Elsewhere, a Hillingdon man has been named among Interpol's most wanted while plenty of our readers were interested to hear of hip hop star Akelle's jail sentence - and other other west London celebs who have done jail time.

Besides crime though, there was great interest in the launch of of 2017 Real Schools Guide - an in depth look at secondary school education in the area.

Twickenham 'shooting'

Police were called to reports of a shooting in Twickenham

A "gunman" is still on the loose nearly four days after shots were fired in Twickenham and a man taken to hospital with a gunshot wound.

Police have made no arrests after the the firearms incident in Whitton on Tuesday (August 1) night. The victim remains in hospital while Metropolitan Police are still investigating the incident.

Hillingdon man among world's most wanted

Roy Lawrence Piechocki was born in Hillingdon in 1961

One of the world's most wanted men, Hillingdon -born Roy Lawrence Piechocki , is still at large according to Interpol.

Now aged 56, he is wanted for 10 counts of sexual exploitation against a minor in the United States.

He is described as just under 6ft tall with blue eyes and brown hair, and a global hunt is being carried out to find him. Anyone who has seen Piechocki is urged to contact the police.

Akelle from hip hop group WSTRN was jailed last week after he was found to be among a gang of five men wearing motorbike helmets who kicked down the door of a flat before threatening the occupants in January last year.

A 40-year-old man and 60-year-old grandmother had a bicycle thrown at them before the woman was punched so hard she broke a tooth.

The 26-year-old was convicted of violent disorder after being found guilty and handed a four and-a-half year jail sentence on July 27.

getwestlondon then took a look at other local stars to have appeared before the courts, including ex footballer Marcus Bent, former rugby star Danny Ciprani and footballer Steven Caulker.

But he was joined by a burglary gang who raider footballer John Terry's home in February.

Also on the list was a Hounslow man who battered his five-year-old step-son to death for losing a show in a public park and was jailed for life.
