The Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) union has withdrawn from talks aimed at preventing a 24-hour tube strike , but another union remain around the table.
Last-ditch talks are being held this morning (January 7) between RMT, Transport Salaried Staffs' Association (TSSA) and London Underground.
The talks were aimed at preventing the walkout between 6pm on Sunday (January 8) and 5.59pm on Monday (January 9).
But RMT has withdrawn from the talks, although TSSA and London Underground remain around the table.
RMT union had balloted in favour of taking industrial action in December.
Mick Cash, RMT's general secretary, previously said: "RMT will not stand by while safety is compromised on London Underground off the back of cash-led cuts to staffing levels that the union has warned would have a serious, lasting and corrosive impact for staff and passengers alike.
"That is why our members are taking this action.
"RMT members on the London Underground stations see day in and day out the toxic impact of the job cuts programme and they are reporting back that it is horrific."
Rail staff members have been told not to book any shifts between 6pm on Sunday and 5.59pm on Monday.
The strikes will go ahead at all London Underground stations.
