A London Underground passenger was punched in the face while travelling on a northbound train from Victoria .

The 51-year-old man sustained a black eye and cut lip from the assault, which happened on November 6 at 10.40am.

The victim was travelling on the northbound train to Green Park when another passenger began leaning towards him and trying to look at his notebook.

The victim asked him to stop and eventually pushed him away, but the offender then became aggressive and threw a punch, causing minor facial injuries.

British Transport Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

A spokesman for the BTP said: "Officers would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV image as he may have information which could help with the investigation.

"If you recognise the man or have any information about the incident, please contact British Transport Police by calling 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting reference 327 of 13/12/16."
