Delays have hit a number of tube services this morning (Wednesday, October 19) leaving commuters frustrated during the morning rush hour.

Transport for London said there were severe delays on the Bakerloo, District and Hammersmith and City lines during the morning peak.

The Circle line was also part suspended and suffering from severe delays.

A signal failure at Stonebridge Park caused minor delays to the entire Bakerloo service, while there were severe hold-ups between Harrow and Wealdstone station and Queen's Park.

There were no services running on the Circle line clockwise and major delays in the opposite direction due to a signal failure at South Kensington .

The District and Hammersmith and City Lines were also badly affected by the signal failure at South Kensington with tickets being accepted on buses, South West Trains, Great Western Railway and C2C trains as alternatives.

Good services were running on all other lines including the Central, Jubilee, Metropolitan and Picadilly lines.
