A man and a woman from west London are to face trial next year accused of killing a 21-year-old student by providing her with potentially lethal slimming aid.

Eloise Parry died on April 12, 2015 at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in Shropshire after allegedly taking diet pills containing the drug DNP.

Albert Huynh, 32 from Northolt and 32-year-old Mary Roberts of Southall are being prosecuted by Harrow Borough Council for manslaughter, alongside 30-year-old Bernard Rebelo of Beckton, east London.

All three are also charged with supplying an "unsafe" food supplement containing DNP on the market between February 24, 2014 and February 24, 2016 and Roberts faces a further charges of money laundering for allegedly transferring £20,000 for and on behalf of Rebelo.

Rebelo denied the charges against him during a plea hearing at the Old Bailey on Tuesday (October 17), whilst the other two defendants appearing in court were not asked to enter pleas.

Judge Wendy Joseph QC set a trial for the Old Bailey starting on April 30, 2018, lasting for eight weeks.

A further hearing will take place on November 17.

All three have been granted conditional bail.
