Tributes are being left to singer Ian Newtion eight years after his murder in west London.

The body of the popular reggae singer was discovered in a pedestrian underpass at Greenford Roundabout on March 22 2009.

Messages are being left on the Facebook page set up in memory of the 45-year-old from Fulham.

No one has been charged with Mr Newtion’s death, but police revealed earlier this month that a 34-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder in November last year and has been released on bail until a later date.

They also said they are still actively pursuing their investigation into the murder and “continuing to work to bring those responsible to justice”.

Mr Newtion, who was also known by his stage name Scoobie Santino and had a 1990s hit with the song Money Honey, was found by a passerby in the underpass on Mother's Day morning at 8.50am.

His neck had been cut.

The dad had been performing at a hall in Rockware Avenue known as the Scout Hut on Saturday (March 21) night, and left to catch a bus to his home in Clem Attlee Estate in Lillie Road at 7.45am (March 22).

Reports at the time said he was last seen by a jogger looking agitated about 10 minutes later.

Despite extensive investigations and a £20,000 reward, police have yet to charge anyone.
