Tributes have been paid to the cyclist who was killed following a collision with a lorry in Chelsea.

He has been named locally as Henry Wilson, a 57-year-old acclaimed photographer who lived in the area.

Police are yet to formally identify and name man, following the fatal collision on Fulham Road , near Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, on Monday (May 22) morning

But a long-term friends has learned the victim was Mr Wilson and paid tribute to him.

Pankaj Amin owns Fulham News in Fulham Road, and said Mr Wilson was a regular customer.

He said: “I knew him very well, he was such a good guy.

“I’m shocked to find out he’s died. He was a true gentleman.”

Mr Wilson travelled the world taking photographs, and was in the process of setting up his own website.

He spent a lot of time in India, and published two books focussing on the country’s interior design and decoration.

Mr Amin said: “He travelled a lot through India for work. He was a very good photographer.

"I knew him for 25 years and he was in the shop just last week.

“He was well known and well liked.

“Never heard anything bad about him because he was such a lovely guy.”

His books, which are available on Amazon, include India: Decoration, Interiors, Design and Pattern and Ornament in the Arts of India.

The collision with a lorry occurred at the interchange with Redcliffe Gardens and Edith Grove, at 10.38am.

Paramedics pronounced the cyclist dead at the scene and witnesses said a forensics tent has gone up on the road.

Police say the lorry driver stopped at the scene and has not been arrested.

Witnesses of the Fulham Road collision are being asked to contact investigating officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command on 020 8543 5157.
