Travellers have pitched up on Ealing Common.

The group were served with a code of conduct letter by Ealing Council on Tuesday evening (August 8).

The encampment was spotted on Ealing Common after police confirmed they had removed a group from another green site in the borough in Elthorne Park.

The group was seen on the common into the late afternoon on Wednesday August 9.

A spokesman for the Ealing Common Met Police team said: "They arrived on Ealing Common last night after they were issued with a section 61 and left Elthorne Park."

"Last night police and Ealing Council issued the whole group with a code of conduct.," the spokesman added.

"At present other actions towards that group are unknown to us."

They were first spotted on the common on July 23 and a group appeared on the same site a week later.

The council has insisted they will be moved on.

“The police are using their powers to move this illegal encampment from Ealing Common as quickly as possible," a council spokesman said.

"In the meantime, we are closely monitoring the site."

Angered residents have previously slammed the council's efforts to prevent travellers from returning to the area.
