Transport for London (TfL) have unveiled a new bus priority scheme at Brent Park which includes the re-design of a major junction on the A406 North Circular.
At the centre of the changes is the Brent Park bus 'gate' allowing route 206 to travel direct from Drury Way to Brentfield Road.
According to TfL, the Brent Park Bus Gate reduces the distance passengers have to travel to cross the A406, while the new road layout will also benefit other road users.
They hope it will help smooth traffic flow by introducing a new left-turn lane from the North Circular Road towards Brentfield Road and putting in better crossing facilities for pedestrians.
Route 206 is a cross-borough link in Brent, running from Wembley Park to Kilburn Park via Brent Park, Harlesden and Brondesbury and had its capacity and frequency increased by 25% in April 2014, with the route be re-routed on June 18.
A consultation on the rerouting of bus routes 206 and 224 took place earlier this year and as result of the consultation, it was decided route 206 would use the new bus gate and route 224 would remain on its existing route to retain a southbound service for customers in an area to the south of the A406 North Circular Road.
TfL have also recently unveiled a new 483 route that run will between Harrow town centre and Ealing Hospital.
