A water main has burst near Holland Park roundabout causing tailbacks in all directions.

Vehicles are queuing all the way back to the A40 Westway, with Holland Park Avenue in Shepherd’s Bush partially blocked.

The burst watermain struck on Holland Park Avenue on Thursday (September 8) morning, on the Kensington and Chelsea side of the junction, which is also known as the Southern Roundabout.

Transport for London (TfL) say other roads heavily affected include

  • Clearwater Terrace (W11) (All Directions)
  • [A402] Holland Park Avenue (W11) (All Directions)
  • Royal Crescent (W11) (All Directions)
  • [A3220] Southern Roundabout (W11) (All Directions)

TfL tweeted to say the traffic is down to one lane on the eastern side of the roundabout with restrictions on approach.

Buses are also being belayed as a result of the incident, with some services running 40 minutes behind schedule.

Ealing Council's Peter Mason joked the roundabout resembled a swimming pool when cycled by.

Last year hundreds of people in Shepherd's Bush lost water when a burst water main flooded roads.
