Trafalgar Square has been "completely cordoned off" in an ongoing police incident.

Pictures show armed Met Police officers guarding the cordon, which is in place both ways on the A400 Charing Cross Road between Trafalgar Square and Cranbourn Street.

Strand eastbound is also closed, TFL said.

Met Police said they were responding to a "suspect package".
