Fancy yourself as the next Chris Froome or Laura Trott, but haven't quite got the legs yet?

Well this charity challenge for Michael Sobell Hospice in Northwood could be the perfect way to rack up some miles for a great cause.

The 40-mile On Your Bike annual challenge is going to be held on Sunday, May 14 and is extra special as 2017 marks the 40th anniversary of the hospice's opening.

All proceeds will go to Michael Sobell Hospice

Marketing manager at the hospice, Sam Heggie, said: “Our special 40-mile anniversary route is a must-do for any cycling enthusiast, who is looking for a bit of a challenge this year.

She added: “This is a wonderful event, which has been running for a number of years now, and we always receive great feedback from those who take part.

"We’re hoping that in our very poignant 40th anniversary year, we’ll see some old familiar faces, but also many new ones, in what promises to be a thrilling event for a worthy local cause.

"Don’t forget to please try and raise as much sponsorship as you can, and this will make a big difference to the total monies raised from this event.”

Proceeds go to the charity

All proceeds will go to the specialist end-of-life care the hospice has been providing for the last 40 years.

The event will kick off at 7.30am from Mount Vernon Hospital and will follow a beautiful countryside route through Amersham, Bovingdon and Hemel Hempstead.

Early bird prices are £25 per person before April 15 and £30 after.

Even kids can get involved (aged 11 to 16) for £10 – although they do need an adult with them.
