A cafe in Kensington was raided by immigration officers after a tip off that staff were working there illegally.

However, a spokesperson for the Home Office later said that no arrests were made and that no action was being taken against the owner of the cafe, in Thackery Street.

The spokesperson said: “Immigration Enforcement officers conducted a visit to a business on Thackeray Street, Kensington , on Wednesday, 10 August, in response to allegations of illegal working.

“Staff were questioned but no arrests were made. No further action was taken against the owners of the business.”

Earlier this year 20 ‘illegal’ workers were found during immigration raids on car washes in Cranford, Hounslow.

And in 2014 immigration raids by the Home Office in Hounslow and Southall led to a string of arrests .
