As London recovers from the impacts of Storm Doris , more stormy weather is forecast to hit the capital tomorrow, February 27.

The Met Office has forecast thunder and heavy showers as we begin the working week.

A spokeman for the Met Office, Ollie Claydon told getwestlondon : "Certainly some showers around, not the sort of steady band of frontal rain tomorrow but associated with those showers, there could be a chance of some thunder.

"But it's certainly not a forgone conclusion, but there could be bits and bobs around when you do see the heavier showers through the day on Monday."

The risk of thunderstorms is being caused by a turbulent air mass, as Olly Claydon adds: "As the frontal system that's worked its way through, behind that we're in a different pool of air that's typical to bring those sort of showers that we might see in London tomorrow.

"And mixed in with that, the turbulence that's within that air mass, you might see thunder."

In the forecast for London on Monday, February 27, the Met Office predict some sunny intervals with "occasional heavy showers, locally wintry with a risk of hail and thunder."

It will also be feeling rather cold in the capital, with highs of just 9°C and lows of 3°C overnight on Monday, February 27.
