Commuters are being warned to expect delays 'in excess of three hours' on the M25 tonight.

It's after heavy rain caused part of the road to collapse at J9, Leatherhead (anticlockwise), at 5.30am this morning, and more than 25 vehicles suffered punctures.

Three lanes are currently closed for emergency repairs which will be taking place throughout the night and due to complete at 5am on Saturday.

AA president Edmund King told the Evening Standard: "The M25 really is the Road to Hell today."

Traffic coming out of London is also unusually heavy this afternoon. More as we get it.
