The fire in West Drayton is now under control after 100% of a storage unit and a fork lift truck were alight.

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers are at the fire on The Common, which was said to be very visible.

The London Fire Brigade received 13 separate 999 calls to the incident at about 11.20am today (April 19).

Station Manager Tim Frost, who is at the scene, said: “The fire is in a storage unit and not at Heathrow airport. There is a lot of thick black smoke at the height of the incident but the smoke has dissipated now as firefighters work to tackle the blaze."

The storage area burnt down was 10m by 20m.
