Ten people were rescued and two cars were destroyed after a fire in an underground car park in Feltham on New Year's Day.

London Fire Brigade said four fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to a fire in the car park beneath a block of flats in Highfield Road at 7.05pm on January 1.

Ten people were led to safety by firefighters and around 80 others left the building before firefighters arrived.

The fire destroyed two cars and left four others damaged.

Crews from Feltham and Heathrow fire stations attended the incident before the blaze was under control by 8.58pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
