Police have asked Hounslow Council to temporarily suspend bin collections at Ivybridge Estate in Isleworth, after a man was stabbed to death.

Hounslow officers requested a stop to rubbish and recycling collection services following the tragic incident in which a 28-year-old-man, named locally as Sahil Roy, died at the estate on Summerwood Road, Isleworth on Sunday (April 10).

Hounslow council said bulk bins for flats and waste and recycling at some houses will be affected.

The collections are expected to resume on Thursday (April 14) but could be delayed further if police make another request.

The council hopes to catch up on any missed collections by the end of the week but said the backlog could run into next week.

The incident is being investigated by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC).

Metropolitan Police said the request was made as part of its ongoing investigation but could not elaborate further.

Friends have paid tribute to the victim, whom one man has described as a “friendly giant”.

People living on the estate have called for action over knives and drugs crime , following the shocking stabbing.

On Monday (April 11), a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
